Transformative coach supporting and empowering parents to overcome Parental Burnout through personalised strategies, helping them to go from surviving to thriving, and rediscover joy and fulfilment in their parenting experience.

About Me
Hi, I’m Rachel, a recovering perfectionist and a chocoholic! I live in Manchester with my family and am a mum to two boys.

Since becoming a parent in 2016, I can openly admit that I have not found that journey easy. In 2022, I experienced both workplace and parental burnout concurrently and was off work for a prolonged period.

I personally wasn’t aware of Parental Burnout until I experienced it myself. While the World Health Organization has defined burnout as a work-place phenomenon, Parental Burnout is a relatively new field both in terms of academic research but also global awareness and understanding of what it is and how to support those parents suffering.

Coaching was a powerful part of my own recovery, and so in 2023 I embarked on a journey to train to become a coach myself. In my role as The Parental Burnout Coach, I’m on a mission to raise awareness of Parental Burnout, reduce the taboo, and support parents with the tools to help them prevent parental burnout or recover from it.

What is Coaching?
The International Coaching Federation defines coaching as a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires coachees to maximize their personal and professional potential. Coaching differs from counselling and psychotherapy since it is future-focussed and the purpose is to work towards a goal / desired future state and how you can get there from the present, whereas psychotherapy tends to look at the past and the emotional state to understand the present. The process of coaching often unlocks previously untapped sources of imagination, productivity and leadership. We all have times when we feel stuck, challenges we’re striving to overcome and goals we want to reach. Partnering with a coach can change your life, setting you on a path to greater personal and professional fulfilment.
My coaching style is empathetic and compassionate. I make clients feel comfortable so that holding space for them doesn’t feel awkward but rather feels like a supportive environment for them to explore their thoughts and feelings. I celebrate my clients’ awareness and achievements in an authentic way to recognise the progress they are making on their journey.
